Current Position: Senior Catering Manager at the El San Juan Hotel
Andrea began her interest in the hospitality industry when as a child she traveled with her father, an executive with Gillette, to destinations such as Ecuador and Guatemala. Her interest grew and she enrolled in the hotel and restaurant administration program at UPR, Carolina in 1997. She graduated with honors in 2001.
In 2001, Andrea was on the opening team of the Embassy Suites Hotel in Dorado where she worked as a food and beverage supervisor. She stayed in this position for two years and then moved as part of the opening team to the Marriott Courtyard in Isla Verde. She was in charge of Bananas Ice Cream Parlor and also developed the hotel’s catering and banquets department.
Andrea enrolled in a Master’s degree program in marketing and finance at Universidad Interamericana in 2003 and graduated in 2006 with a double major. While studying for her Master’s degree, Andrea moved back to the Embassy Suites as Catering Manager and in 2008 she became the Senior Catering Manager at Embassy Suites, Dorado del Mar. In 2010, Andrea became the Senior Catering Manager at the El San Juan Hotel, a position that requires much experience and knowledge as it is a very demanding job.
